Day 4 : Agra - Gwalior - Agra
Travel by train to the fort city of Gwalior, known for its spectacular hill top citadel with its Rajput palaces, Hindu temples and a Victorian school.
In the evening return back to Agra by train.
Day 5 : Agra - Fatehpur Sikri - Jaipur
Morning drive to Jaipur, the fabled "Pink City" enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri - the deserted capital city of the mighty Mughal Empire. Evening a lecture on the history of Rajput Warriors and Maharajas.
Day 6 : Jaipur Day 7 : Jaipur - Samode Day 8 : Samode - Mandawa |
Day 9 : Mandawa - Bikaner
Drive to Bikaner - the 15th century royal walled city. Evening cocktail dinner.
Day 10 : Bikaner - Nagaur - Khimsar
Morning visit the Junagarh Fort. The Fort Museum houses a valuable collection of ancient manuscripts, miniature paintings, jewellery etc.
Later drive to Khimsar en route visiting.
Day 11 : Khimsar - Jodhpur
Depart for Jodhpur - A vibrant trade town that stands on a range of Sandstone hills. Evening a meeting with the Maharaja of Jodhpur or a member of the royal family over cocktails.
Day 12 : Jodhpur
Jodhpur was the stronghold of the fierce Rathore clan, founded in 1459 by Prince Jodha. Visit palace, forts and Jaswant Thada, an imposing Marble cenotaph built in 1899.
Day 13 : Jodhpur - Ranakpur - Udaipur
Drive to Udaipur - Venice of the East visiting enroute Jain Temples at Ranakpur. Built in 1559 A.D. by Maharaja Udai Singh, the city has been described as the most romantic spot on the continent of India by Col. James Todd in his annals.
Day 14 : Udaipur
Sightseeing of Udaipur - including the City Palace - The largest palace in Rajasthan and the Garden of the Maids of Honour constructed in the early 18th Century. Evening a special Gangaur boat dinner on the lake can be organised.
Day 15 : Udaipur - Delhi - Depart Delhi
Transfer to airport to connect flight for Delhi. In the evening farewell dinner and transfer to international airport for flight back home.
