Day 02: Leh After break fast half day sight seeing of Sankar Gompa: Located on a valley floor and is the home to Lamas who belong to yellow sect. visit Shanti Stupa : a Buddhist religious monument built by Japanese. Leh Palace: the 17thcentury looking for all the world like a miniature version of Potala in Lhasa. The rest of the day sight seeing of Shey, Thiksay & Hemis. Shey was the summer palace of Ladakhi kings and is where you can see the 36Ft. high statue of Buddha made of copper and covered with gold. Thiksey: The twelve storied monastery of Thiksey is situated in the most prominent of positions, lies on an island Mountain. Lastly visit Hemis: farthest away from Leh, this is the wealthiest monastery in Ladakh belong to red sect-it is here each summer that plays are held and Ladakhis from all parts of the country will visit Hemis Meals and overnight in Hotel.
Sarchu is inhabited by Himalayan Clan Gaddi and few lonely soldiers at an army outpost.It is also the actual border between Lahaul and Zanskar. Arrive and overnight stay in tents. Day 06: Jispa Morning after breakfast drive to Jispa (3142 M) (95 kms/4 hrs approx) via Baralachala (4892 M). This place is used for the itinerary as a night stop over before saying good bye to the Ladakh and the Zanskar range . Overnight stay at Hotel Ibex. Day 07 : Manali Morning after breakfast drive to Manali (147 kms/ 5 -- 6 hrs approx) via Rohtang pass (3980 M). On arrival Check Inn at Hotel, if time permites take a round of Manali Town . Day 08 : Manali – ( via Chandigarh) -- Delhi. Breakfast at Hotel, later on drive down to Delhi via Chandigarh ( which is quite a long drive almost 13 hours ) or you can take a train from Chandigarh ( Satabdi Express , fastest type of train in India ) or make a stop over at Panchkula ( but nothing there to see ) or you can also stay at Shimla as a stop over and come back to Delhi.
